Bismarck, ND- As North Dakota takes over McGregor Square this weekend in downtown Denver, Find The Good Life in North Dakota is proud to highlight the journey of Isaac and Will, two Colorado natives who have found their professional and personal fulfillment in Bismarck, North Dakota. Both Isaac and Will started their careers as interns with the Bismarck Larks in 2020 and have since risen to significant leadership roles within the organization.
Isaac, now the Director of Marketing for the Bismarck Larks, and Will, the Director of Marketing for Funatix Events, exemplify the opportunities and quality of life that North Dakota offers. Their stories are being shared as part of the "Find the Good Life in North Dakota" initiative, aimed at showcasing the state as a great place to live and work during the McGregor Square takeover June 15-16. Attendees can learn more about the state and receive giveaways, including a chance to win Colorado Rockies tickets.
Isaac and Will's journey began in 2020 when they joined the Bismarck Larks as enthusiastic interns. Both from Brighton, Colorado, their dedication, creativity, and passion for their work quickly set them apart, leading to permanent positions and subsequent promotions within the organization. Over the years, they have played pivotal roles in shaping the marketing strategies that have driven the success of the Bismarck Larks and Funatix Events, including the wildly successful and viral Missouri River Motorboaters campaign.
“North Dakota has given us an opportunity to be successful from the jump and to do a job that matters right away. I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to do and then some because of the opportunity I found here,” said Isaac. “The Bismarck-Mandan community is highly motived to make this city grow and feel like a home. People want to make it a great place to live, and I’ve never felt like a transplant.”
Will echoed Isaac's sentiments, adding, "There was home sickness right away as an early 20-year-old, I wanted to be in the big city but now I see that my paycheck goes farther. The summers are so green and there are so many things to do because it doesn’t get dark until 10 o’clock. I’ve never felt like an outsider and people would be surprised how welcoming the business landscape is and that’s beneficial to workforce development because you have the chance to grow your career tenfold.”
The "Find the Good Life in North Dakota" initiative seeks to attract talent to the state by highlighting success stories of individuals who have found personal and professional satisfaction in North Dakota. Isaac and Will's stories are a testament to the welcoming environment, strong community ties, and abundant opportunities available in the state.
“If you can think it, you can do it out here,” said Will.
The shortest commute time in country hasn’t been lost on Issac, either. As an avid golfer, he loves the courses in the Bismarck-Mandan area and the fact it doesn’t take long to get to any of them. “The golf courses here are great,” he said. “There are five within 15 minutes of each other. We don’t have to deal with traffic, it’s remarkable.” McGregor Square attendees can get a glimpse of golf in the Peace Garden State by putting their putting skills to the test at two North Dakota themed mini holes.
As they continue to thrive in their respective roles, Isaac and Will remain committed to contributing to the success of their organizations, and to inspiring others to consider North Dakota as their new home.
